The Den Concept started in 1985 in Sydney in the famous or infamous Oxford Street strip. Originally The Den was associated with the renowned Numbers bookshop, the first gay bookshop in Sydney. Since then The Den has extended to Brisbane Queensland in the busy Fortitude Valley and more recently the Gold Coast at Mermaid Beach, with full retail and club facilities.

The Den has also branched out overseas to New Zealand with extensive retail and club facilities in K Road and the megastore at Newmarket.
